We’re dreaming of a glorious New Year break in this elegant East Cork farm cottage

It’s a fairytale setting.
If months of lockdown have left your Instagram feed looking a little dated, now is the time to start the search for a picture-perfect getaway to enjoy once it’s safe to travel again… and we’ve already bookmarked the ideal location.
We’re talking lazy breakfasts of free-range eggs, days of bracing beach walks and hikes in the Ballycotton cliffs… sound like your idea of heaven?
If so, a newly renovated garden cottage in East Cork is now available for bookings in the spring.
Double doors welcome you into an open-plan sitting room and galley kitchen, leading into a beautiful bedroom with shower room en suite, all surrounded by rolling fields and farmland.
This converted barn’s interior is right out of a rom-com movie – there’s white wood panelling on the walls, industrial lighting, a large table for dinners à deux and a wood-burning stove for chilly evenings and late nights spent playing cards or reading.
“Comfortable armchairs invite you to curl up by the wood-burning stove, while the settle board table is a lovely spot to linger over a candlelight dinner.” says host, Kenneth.
There’s a special allure for foodies and fans of fresh produce too: “Guests of the cottage have access to the gardens, including a vegetable and herb garden just across the lane.” he adds.
The centrally heated cottage is available now for bookings in March onwards at €114 per night.
