WEATHER: Warm and sunny in Cork as temperatures head for the high 20s by midweek

It’s absolutely balmy out there.
And it looks like the glorious August weather is set to continue for the foreseeable future, with Met Éireann predicting a sun-drenched few days ahead for Cork and a “very warm” weekend.
“Ongoing high pressure will keep our weather very settled for the rest of the week with dry conditions and a good deal of sunshine across the country.” said a forecaster.
Tonight, Tuesday night will be dry and clear with lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.

Wednesday will be dry with good sunshine throughout the day and highest temperatures of 21 to 26 degrees, while Thursday will see temperatures creep higher again, possibly to 27C.
According to the forecasters, Friday will be “hot, dry and sunny” with temperatures reaching 23 to 28 degrees, remaining hot and dry through the weekend with a good deal of sunshine.
“Maximum temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high twenties across much of the country,” they added.
Good luck finding a packet of burger buns.
