Weather this week will range from okay to freezing

You wouldn’t exactly call this good news.
Met Éireann’s latest regional forecast for Munster suggests that this week will, for the most part, be a little bit less bitter than last. Today (Monday 29th), for example, will see cool temperatures and sunny spells — especially sunny in South Cork.
Tonight certainly won’t be as cold as what we’ve endured in the last week, with lows of just 7 degrees.
The rain will kick in in earnest on Tuesday, however, and it will be mostly cloudy but dry to start tomorrow, with just patches of mist or drizzle again. Heavy rain will spread from the west across the province during the afternoon. Temperatures will be a mild 9 to 11 degrees.
Wednesday will also be a “blustery showery day, with showers prolonged at times, some possibly heavy. There will be sunny spells between showers.” The night will see a return to sub-zero temperatures, with the mercury dropping to -1. Sleet is also a very real possibility.
Sleet is also on the cards for Thursday, which will be a cold day. Temperatures will range from 4 degrees to 8 degrees during the day time, before reaching “near freezing” as the night falls. Wet and breezy conditions will move from west to east over the course of the evening.
