Weather: Plenty of warm sunshine for Cork as Met Éireann predicts a dry week

The weekend was a soggy mess.
But it looks like Cork will continue to escape the heavy rain and flooding hitting Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wicklow, Kildare and Monaghan today, with a dry, warm week ahead on Leeside.
As the county recovers from the sting of defeat following Tipp’s win in the All-Ireland on Sunday, it will be mainly dry today with just isolated showers. It will be cloudy overall but the occasional sunny spell will develop with highest temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees.
Wet this morning & early afternoon across Leinster & E Ulster with heavy rain leading to localised flooding & hazardous travel conditions ⚠️
Elsewhere will be drier with isolated showers. Later in the afternoon, rain in the E will ease & become patchy 🌦️

It will be dry overnight but rather cloudy tomorrow with scattered showers and a few sunny spells in the evening, with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
“More in the way of dry weather for the rest of the week. While there will be occasional showers or outbreaks of rain, accumulations will be small.” said a forecaster.
Wednesday will be cloudy but dry with temperatures hitting around 19 degrees, becoming warmer on Thursday when we can expect outbreaks of rain and drizzle but highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees.
Another mixed bag for the weekend
“Another rather cloudy start to Friday with scattered showers. Showers will slowly become more isolated through the day with sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in moderate, occasionally fresh, westerly winds.” said a forecaster.
For next weekend, the current forecast suggests a good deal of dry weather on Saturday with sunny spells and showers, but more persistent rain on Sunday.
