Watch the new Downton Abbey movie in a restored cinema (with drinks and canapes)

By Yay Cork April 12, 2022April 11, 2022

It might be the perfect night out for fans.

With the latest Downton Abbey movie in the series about to launch at the end of the month, one Cork cinema is laying on an enchanting evening of entertainment to celebrate… and it’s all for an excellent cause.

The Regal Cinema, Youghal and Peter McVerry Trust will present a charity screening of the much-anticipated movie ‘Downton Abbey – A New Era’ on Saturday, April 30th at 6pm

It’ll all be suitably swanky too; guests will be welcomed by a fruit punch reception with canapes, cupcakes and music from The Songstress, before the movie begins at 8pm.

“The lovely people from the Cobh Vintage Era Heritage Group will greet our guests on arrival and be available for photo opportunities. The Irish Ford Model T Club will also be bringing along some of their spectacular cars.” they told us.

“1920s inspired fancy dress is encouraged with a prize for the best dressed!”

Tickets are available exclusively from Eventbrite at €30 for Ground Floor seating and €42 for Mezzanine level, which buys you reclining seats, a glass of house wine, and a goody bag.

Peter McVerry Trust is a national housing and homeless charity committed to reducing homelessness and the harm caused by substance misuse and social disadvantage. In 2021, the charity worked with 10,000 people and was active in 28 local authorities across Ireland.
