Vote for Cork’s prettiest shops, pubs and cafés in the CBA Better Building Awards

Nominations are now open.
A well-kept building can transform a street. Now local business owners who spend time and money maintaining and improving their facades are to be celebrated by the city.
Cork Business Association (CBA), in partnership with Cork City Council, is once again inviting submissions for the Cork Better Building Awards.
The awards recognise the efforts of developers, landlords and tenants to present properties throughout the city to their absolute best.

Last year’s winners came from a variety of sectors and each entry was judged by a panel of experts in heritage, planning and placemaking. As well as large-scale projects, the judging panel will also focus on maintenance and good housekeeping, such as cleaning, painting and planting.
The Awards are open to all city businesses from Ballincollig to Blarney, Glanmire to Douglas as well as the city centre.
“Form and function in design is what makes Cork City stand out from other cities nationally and internationally.” said Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Dan Boyle.
“These awards are an important acknowledgement of what has been done well in the city. We are currently undergoing huge transformation and investment in areas such as Grand Parade Quarter and Morrison’s Island will deliver a new landscape for the city. That building owners and businesses are also investing in Cork speaks to the ambitions of the city and the bright prospects ahead.”
The award ceremony will be hosted at The Kingsley Hotel on November 15th. There is no entry fee and nominations can be made by companies, organisations and notably by individuals before Friday, October 11th here.
