Two top-notch Cork restaurants have made a list of Ireland’s Top Ten Hottest Dining Rooms.
Compiled by renowned food critics John and Sally McKenna as part of The Sunday Times’ Hundred Best Restaurants in Ireland Library Street in Dublin has taken the number one spot, followed by Goldie in Cork and Big Mike’s in Blackrock, Dublin.
Union Quay wine bar L’Atitude 51 was featured at number nine in the list, which focuses on the “most exciting and vital rooms to eat modern and creative Irish cooking”.
Goldie Head Chef Aishling Moore, who already has a Michelin Bib Gourmand award under her belt, said her team was “overwhelmed” by the news.
L’Atitude 51 owner Beverley Mathews said she was “absolutely thrilled, to put it mildly, and blessed to have an incredible team and amazing customers.”
Here’s the complete list:
1. Library St, Dublin
2. Goldie, Cork
3. Big Mike’s, Dublin
4. James St, Belfast
5. Blackrock Cottage, Galway
6. Lir, Derry
7. Square Restaurant, Louth
8. Uno Mas, Dublin
9. L’Atitude 51, Cork
10. Nóinín, Kilkenny
“We believe the best cooking is achieved when restaurants source local produce from their local area,” said Sally McKenna.
“We wanted to create a list of the Top Ten places with the best energy and vibe that food lovers crave. While there have sadly been many closures for restaurants, we can see new talent emerging and the Irish restaurant landscape continuing to grow.”
