Two sweet children’s Cork on a Fork events you can book for little foodies

It’s not all for grown-ups, you know.
As Cork on a Fork Festival sweeps through every street in Cork City this week, there’s plenty of foodie fun planned for little locals too.
This Saturday, August 16th, two fun food events will take place for kids at St Peter’s, North Main Street.
At 12pm, the venue will transform into a playground of flavour, creativity, and imagination for Food Explorers: A Tasty Cork Adventure for Kids. Designed for children aged 5–12 years, this free, interactive workshop will take kids on a delicious journey through Cork’s food story—mixing games, art, and hands-on activities to inspire a lifelong love for good food.

Young explorers will discover where food comes from and how it reaches their plates; play games to follow food’s journey from farm to fork; learn to spot healthy choices in their own neighbourhood and design their dream food-friendly city for the future with arts and crafts, prizes and stickers.
Tickets are free and you can book your spot here.
A Tasting Adventure
Later on, at 2pm in the same venue, there will be a Tasting Adventure for Small People with Small Producers. Children will meet some of Cork’s famous artisan producers, who are hosting a farmers market at St Peters, and enjoy fun tastings, curated by On the Pigs Back.
Tickets for this event are €11 here.
There will also be free face painting and , while parental supervision is required, grown-ups can relax with coffee and light bites in the café area, or browse the On the Pigsback: Artisan Cheese & Drinks Market in the space while children enjoy the experience. Suitable for kids aged between five and 12.
Before of after both events, you can also check out the free Rumley’s Farm pop-up event and markets on Cornmarket Street.
