Treat the kids to some happy vibes at this free pop-up children’s yoga sesh’

Do your kiddos need a screen break?
In today’s technology-driven world, children face increasingly demanding schedules and mounting pressures.
Happily, a new yoga and mindfulness summer camp is offering the perfect remedy this year… and they’re hosting a free taster event this Saturday in Douglas Village Shopping Centre.
Research suggests that children’s yoga fosters mindfulness, teaching them to focus their attention and regulate their emotions. By engaging in calming breathing exercises and gentle movements, youngsters develop valuable coping strategies that equip them to navigate stress and anxiety effectively.
The brainchild of local yogi Lorraine Leahy, Happy Vibes runs throughout July in the Douglas Community Hall with programmes for kids aged between four and seven years of age.
“With a focus on empowering kids to just ‘be themselves and be their best creative selves, this promises to be a unique camp experience,” said Leahy.
“Yoga provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore their emotions and develop the ability to self-regulate.
“These are all important life skills and when life throws our kids some big emotions or tricky situations to navigate on the playground taking time out to breathe and get calm can be a game changer.”
