This wild and wonderful Cork circus celebration turns into a late-night DJ set

Always wanted to run away to the circus?
Well, pack your bag. This Saturday, April 19th, Circus Factory Cork throws open its doors for a night of fire, flight, and fierce community spirit in celebration of World Circus Day—a global celebration of circus arts.
Running from 8pm to 1am at Circus Factory on Centre Park Road, this over-18s event promises a vibrant mix of circus skills, including aerial silks, clown, aerial hoop, acrobatics, and fire performances, all topped off with local DJs spinning late into the night.
More than just a spectacle, this year’s celebration is a tribute to the community that has grown within the Circus Factory walls, a family of performers ranging from complete beginners to international professionals, bound together by creativity, collaboration, and a love of the circus.

“This is my third time performing at Circus Factory, and circus arts have been a first for me,” says Emer O’Brien, who discovered her passion for circus with aerial hoop just last year.
“I’ve always been ambitious but never really stuck with anything for too long. Circus is different. I can’t wait to share my act and learn from all the amazing talent here.”
Performer Rebecca Ní Bhíocaire, a seasoned aerialist who trained in Cardiff, Cork, London, and Bristol, brings over a decade of international experience to the event.
“I started with hula hoop and trapeze, but my current passion is spinning fast on an aerial hoop. I’m currently taking a break from my day job in science to focus on seeing how fast I can spin on aerial hoop.” she added.
