This sweet Dog’s Day Out involves doggie yoga and puppy playdates in East Cork

It’s probably the most fun you can have if you’re a dog.
Ballymaloe is once again throwing open their gates and lawns to the pampered pooches of Cork on April 7th, hosting the second annual Dogs’ Day Out, with activities for families and their four-legged friends.
The event, run by Ballymaloe Grainstore in association with Top Barkz Canine School in Cork, will follow the success of last year’s Dogs’ Day Out, which saw a celebration of pooches of all shapes and sizes.

The grounds of Ballymaloe Farm will again be filled with puppy play date areas, agility, games, talks, dog specialists, stalls, and a dog show.
Alex Wilson from Xtra Dog training will be offering hands-on workshops throughout the day to give pet owners a great insight into the T-touch approach and
Bring your own mat for a fun hour of downward dogs and puppy stretches; Mary Kelly will be running three sessions of dog-friendly yoga on the day at 10am, 12pm and 2pm and there’s a Dogs Got Talent show scheduled for later in the afternoon.
As with last year, Dogs’ Day Out 2024 will see local food and drinks producers host stalls at the event, offering an array of food and drink choices, for both humans and canines.

“There are so many different activities happening on the day; you can enjoy chilling out on the grounds of Ballymaloe Farm with your pooch, bring your puppy to an area where they can play safely, or watch trainers and learn from professionals in the undercover Big Shed main arena,” said Operations Manager of Ballymaloe Grainstore Bree Allen.
“There’s also a fantastic food offering on the day so it’s a real family event.”
Esther Ring, founder of Top Barkz Cork is thrilled at the prospect of Dogs’ Day Out returning: “We couldn’t ask for a more beautiful venue than Ballymaloe to host this event; there’s so much space for all the activities we offer, and it’s fantastic for dogs and their owners to be out in nature enjoying all the fun that goes with the day.”
The event is free for dogs and for children under 12 and tickets are €15 for adults, including all talks, competitions and events.
