This magical Cork location is one of Ireland’s ‘hidden gem’ Christmas proposal spots

By Yay Cork November 7, 2024November 7, 2024

Planning to ask a big question this Christmas?

If you’re secretly scouting for a romantic spot to propose to your other half this festive season, a Cork castle just appeared on a list of Ireland’s most popular must-visit Christmas proposal spots.

Blarney Castle appears alongside the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, the Giant’s Causeway in County Antrim, Killarney National Park in Kerry and Trinity College in Dublin in the round-up of spectacular locations in which to pop the question.

Ireland has quickly become one of the most popular engagement destinations, with Google searches for “Ireland proposal” up 134 per cent in the past quarter.

After analysing hashtag data from TikTok, Diamonds Factory Ireland uncovered the most popular and hidden gem proposal spots in the country. Blarney Castle is one of the latter so you can be sure your big moment won’t be scuppered by another guy or gal getting down on one knee.

The company advises lovebirds to get engaged amidst the rich history and picturesque gardens of Blarney Castle, home to the famous Blarney Stone, noting that the 15th-century castle and gardens provide a picturesque setting for a special moment:

“The castle and gardens have many secluded spots, such as by the lake, that are perfect for a proposal,” they add.

Adult admission to Blarney Castle is €22 and you can plan your visit over here.
