This magical Cork art class lets you paint the night sky inside a castle observatory

If you’ve been promising yourself you’ll try a new hobby, here’s the sign you’ve been waiting for.
A beautiful new painting workshop is taking place at Blackrock Castle Observatory this August, and it’s inspired by one of the most awe-inspiring subjects imaginable — the universe itself.
Taking place on Saturday, August 8th, from 2pm to 4pm, the adult workshop (€50) invites participants to create their own celestial artwork inspired by real images captured through the observatory’s telescope.
And honestly, the setting couldn’t be more perfect.

There’s something wonderfully romantic about spending an afternoon painting galaxies, stars and nebulae inside a centuries-old castle dedicated to exploring the cosmos.
The workshop is fully guided and designed for all skill levels, meaning you don’t need to be the next Picasso to take part. Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before or already love getting creative, you’ll be guided through the process step by step and leave with your own finished masterpiece.
All materials are included, so the only thing you’ll need to bring is a little curiosity and perhaps a willingness to embrace your artistic side.
Spaces are limited, and we have a feeling this one will prove popular with anyone looking for a slightly different way to spend a summer afternoon so book in here,
