This is how long you can expect the heatwave to continue

It’s another weekend for the beach.
Two more days of glorious sunshine are on the way, with Met Eireann forecasting that the temperatures will remain in the 20s for the rest of July.
Met Eireann’s head forecaster Evelyn Cusack TOLD RTE Prime Time host Miriam O’Callaghan that experts expect the heatwave to continue for at least 15 more days.
Cusack revealed: “Our predictions are certainly another ten days which is the medium range of our forecast but we’re currently using an experimental 15 day forecast and that is indicating a lot of dry weather.
“It’s been exceptionally dry, it’s been the driest June in Leinster since 1941.
“These conditions will remain for another week to two weeks.”
A Status Yellow weather warning remains in place across the country, as the temperatures exacerbate drought conditions.
A national hosepipe ban officially came into effect in Cork today at 8am and will continue until Tuesday, July 31st.
