Over at The Maryborough Hotel, the two AA Rosette Bellini’s Restaurant, Hotel Restaurant of the Year in Munster at the Yes Chef awards 2019, is setting the stage for the busiest weeks of the year.
With reservations coming in thick and fast, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric in the plush Art Deco-ispired dining room from now on.
Backstage in the kitchen, head chef Gemma Murphy and her team work with the best local farmers, butchers, fishermen, growers, craft and artisanal producers to create an eclectic fusion of flavours from the best local seasonal produce.
You can check out the full menu here, but highlights include Ballinwillin Venison Loin, Filet of Hereford Beef and Marinated Fillet of Cod, served with a cider gel, pickled celery, sea vegetables and black quinoa.
Naturally reared just down the road in Ballydehob, the Breast of Skeaghanore Duck is another excellent main course recommendation. At Bellini’s it’s served with a smoked potato foam, red cabbage and blood orange purée with a coffee-infused jus.
In the chic, intimate restaurant, the lighting is low and romantic – ideal for getting into the Christmas spirit and enjoying a custom cocktail by Bellini’s resident mixologist.
