This hidden Kinsale townhouse is perfect for a swanky night away

Sometimes the best staycations are the ones that don’t involve a lot of driving.
There’s nothing like packing a weekend bag and heading off on a Friday evening after work, landing in a seaside town in time for dinner.
On that note, if you think you’ve experienced all the accommodation options Kinsale has to offer, think again.
There’s a super swanky option that’s a favourite among Ireland’s most stylish – they just like to keep it to themselves.
Nestled in the centre of the historic seaside village, overlooking Kinsale’s tranquil harbour, the Giles Norman Townhouse is within strolling distance of the country’s best restaurants, cafés and bars.
And the rooms are to die for…
Run by the photographer Giles Norman, who lives in Kinsale with his wife and business partner Catherine and their children, Jack, Ali and Louis, the refurbished Georgian building is home to four luxury guest suites that make the perfect base for exploring the area.
The Townhouse was designed in collaboration with Arlene McIntyre of Ventura Design as an extension of the main gallery – each individual room has been curated by Giles himself, exhibiting stunning black and white pieces from his many portfolios.
All guest rooms include Nespresso machines (natch), free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, luxury bed linen and goose down duvets. Each elegant en suite boasts a rain shower and plenty of gorgeous organic VOYA toiletries.
The Studio, The Kinsale Room and The Atlantic Room offer stunning waterfront views of the town’s marina, and feature a super-king bed, which can be converted into two singles.
Nightly rates start at €140, rising to €225 for The Studio, which is the most spacious option, featuring a living room area, a free-standing bath and an additional sofa bed, which can sleep one adult or two children… or none at all if you call in that babysitting favour.
