This gym is offering a free six-week self-defence class to women

Can’t hurt to learn a few moves.
A group of professional martial arts instructors have come together to teach a free self-defence class to local women.
In response to the recent attacks on women around Ireland, four instructors with a combined 100 years of martial arts experience will lead a series of “engaging and practical” sessions, while other martial artists will also join in to offer their input.
Teachers will include Andrew “Brucie” O’Brien, head coach of Brucies Thai Boxing Club, Irisney Lima, a capoeira teacher with 25 years experience, Charlie Bigger, a BJJ Purple Belt and Karate Black Belt, and Dwayne Crowley, third Dan Tae Kwon Do Black Belt.
“We will teach basic, practical and effective self-defence techniques in a safe environment.” said coach Crowley.
The classes will start on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at 10am at Bandon Strength and Conditioning in Bandon and will run for six weeks. There will be an element of fitness in each class, but no experience or equipment is needed.
Booking is essential (over 16s only) and you can email defenceclassesbandon@gmail.com to secure your place.
