This free course could help you turn your garden into a wildlife wonderland

Off this Wednesday?
If you happen to be free on April 24th, you can unleash your inner eco-warrior at a free Gardening for Biodiversity & Climate Action Course organised by Cork City Council.
Led by the brilliant horticulturist and environmentalist Aoife Munn, this course will cover all the cool stuff, from planting that’s low maintenance but brilliant for wildlife to growing your own grub – fruit, veg, the whole shebang – and becoming more food-secure (because who doesn’t love fresh, homegrown goodness?)
There will also be a lesson in managing rainwater like a pro and supercharging your soil and participants will also learn all about reducing waste and composting.
The course is happening at the Glen Resource Centre from 10am to 4pm and is perfect for anyone who wants to give their garden a biodiversity boost, help tackle climate change, and build a more sustainable Cork.
Whether you’re part of a Tidy Towns group, a (Wo)Men’s Shed crew, an eco-warrior in the making, or just a regular Corkonian who wants to make a difference, the course is open to all.
Heads up: There’ll be a mix of indoor and outdoor learning, so comfy shoes are a must. You can register here.
