This exotic Cork garden is open to visitors for four days this week

We love a little nose ’round a pretty garden.
And this week, there’s a rare chance to get a guided tour through one of Cork’s most gorgeous hidden gardens as part of National Heritage Week.
Ashton Grove Garden in Knockraha is welcoming guests daily from now until August 24th from 10am to 12pm.
The thoughtfully crafted garden is not overly formal, but lovingly designed with future generations in mind. The orangery was ingeniously built from a derelict pig shed, while even fallen slates were repurposed as borders for rose beds.
It even boasts a horological maze, a unique maze inspired by the workings of a French mantel clock—complete with cog-wheels and springs—celebrates the owner’s passion for horology.

“We welcome you to enjoy an introductory talk about the history of our heritage property followed by a self-guided tour of restored gardens and woodland, with map.” say the organisers.
“Please bring walking shoes. No facilities, but these are available in nearby Glanmire and Glounthaune. Two ponds, so please supervise children at all times.”
