A Cork pizza place has come up with a uniquely Irish take on a classic for St Patrick’s weekend this year.

Pompeii Pizza just unveiled a Traditional Irish Bacon and Cabbage Pizza ahead of the biggest party weekend on the calendar and to be honest, we totally would.

Sure, bacon and cabbage hasn’t always had the best reputation but it is one of our favourite Mammy dinners and the Franciscan Well’s resident pie makers have put together a much tastier take on the soggy dish we’re used to.

The Pompeii Pizza version involves honey-glazed Jack McCarthy’s bacon, curly cabbage, spuds, fior de latte cheese, sea salt and a choice of mustard or brown sauce on the side.

Side note: the first customer of the day to order in Irish gets one free 12″ pizza.
