As the festive season approaches, Airbnb has announced its 2023 winter travel trends, revealing the top trending destinations for guests in Ireland… and Skibbereen is the only Cork spot to make the list.
The West Cork town comes in at number three after Adare in Limerick and Clifden in Galway.
Airbnb options in this neck of the woods include the beautiful Lough Hyne Cottage (€130 per night), an architecturally designed wood cabin situated on the shore of Lough Hyne, Ireland’s only marine nature reserve.
“Irish guests are heading west this winter to explore the ‘Wild Atlantic Way’, with Skibbereen, Castlebar, Ennis and Letterkenny all featuring in Airbnb’s list of trending destinations.” said an Airbnb spokesperson.
“Many travellers are eager to book a coastal getaway despite the colder winter weather, opting for a beach favourite, Spanish Point, where they can enjoy brisk seaside walks, or Adare, where guests can discover the heritage of the small village.
