This Cork charity needs urgent support to build winter shelters for abused and neglected horses

The organisation’s main paddock fence fell over last week.
Now the volunteer-run Cobh Rescue Horses (CRH) is in a desperate race against time to raise funds and carry out repairs to their base before winter arrives.
A registered charity, CRH has been rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing abused and neglected equines in Ireland since 2016.
The group does not receive any government funding and their costs are many, ranging from specialist veterinary, farrier, and dental care to feed, supplements, deworming and lice treatments, passports, and transportation.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to collect money that will be used to build the shelters, lay concrete and fix the main paddock fence, creating a safe haven where the latest influx of abandoned animals can recover.
“The cost of these repairs and extensions is estimated between €6,000 and €7,000.” explained the campaign organiser Jackie Kennedy.
“The paddock fence is urgent so we will be using the funds we have generated in the past few months to get the fence up as soon as possible. We are so grateful to many of you who donated to us before, please know that we could not do this without your help.”
