Classical music lovers will be treated to a live broadcast of the Berliner Philharmoniker New Year’s Eve concert at The Gate Cinema on North Main Street in Cork City on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019.
Traditionally ranked as one of the top orchestras in the world, the Berlin Philharmonic’s last performance of the year is a favourite among fans.
Conducted by chief conductor Kirill Petrenko and featuring a lively American programme with star soprano and world-renowned performer Diana Damrau as guest soloist, the two hour production is guaranteed to be an atmospheric end to the year, with George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Weill and Stephen Sondheim at the heart of the programme.
It begins at 4pm (ideal if you plan on enjoying lunch in town beforehand or heading to dinner afterwards) and tickets are €15 here.
