It’s right on the water.
If you’re planning a visit to Kinsale once Covid-19 travel restrictions allow, there’s a new spot to stay where the spectacular views can be enjoyed from your pillow.
The Boathouse is a Driftwood property located in Scilly, the little peninsula across the harbour from Kinsale.
It sits right on the water, overlooking the Marina, Charles Fort and James Fort, so you can literally sit in your king-sized bed and watch the boats sail by.
There’s an outside patio with a seating area where you can enjoy a glass of wine and the newly refurbished interior boasts wooden floors, deep rattan armchairs, fluffy sheepskins, velvet cushions and wool blankets… the perfect spot to kick off your shoes and unwind.
No need to overpack either; The Boathouse shower room boasts a double size shower, high-quality toiletries, fluffy towels and fresh linen dressing gowns.
There’s a small kitchenette for preparing breakfast (Krups coffee maker, Dualit kettle and toaster, mini-fridge and French press included) and the cupboards are stocked with teas, coffee, sugar, biscuits and milk for your arrival.
Naturally, Alexa is resident in The Boathouse too, along with a dedicated Spotify premium account so you can find the perfect tune to chill to. We recommend Otis Redding’s ‘Sittin’ on the Dock of the Bay’.
You can rent the Boathouse via Airbnb from €213 per night (two-night minimum) here.
