This buzzy Kinsale spot is rounding out the year with another restaurant award
It’s a fantastic spot.
Fresh off the back of a busy year, St Francis never thought they’d be finishing off 2023 with not only a Michelin Bib Gourmand but as a winner in the Casual Dining category at the Food & Wine Awards.
“2023 is proving to be a big year for our tiny restaurant and our small, dedicated, and wonderful team,” gushed restauranteurs John and Barbara Nealon.
“From a personal perspective, Kinsale has minded us, inspired us, and uplifted us from day one and we couldn’t ask for a better place to call home to our business and our family,” added Barbara, who thanked the local community for their support since they landed in the town five years ago.
“It’s been challenging in ways I couldn’t imagine but being here, in this place, got us through and more than that, helped us grow into whatever we are and what we are growing into now. There’s a special energy here.”

The owners have given staff a well-deserved week off after receiving the news on Sunday and are looking to prepare for a busy winter ahead.
