This beautiful new website takes a quirky look at Cork’s history

Did you know that a retired shark lives in Cork’s Lough?
No, we didn’t either, but we did consider the possibility for a split second, thanks to a fun new website that launched locally this week.
We’re talking about Behold Cork, an artfully designed celebration of all things lovely on Leeside, with a healthy dose of pure Cork humour thrown in for good measure.
The stories take a whimsical look at Cork through the eyes of two local designers, Keith Kent and Jason O’Gorman.
Inspired by the native’s passion for all things Cork, it documents some of the most recognisable and famous attractions across the city and county… from a slightly mischievous perspective.
The team told Yay Cork: “It is our hope that the project will help in the long-term promotion of Cork city and county.
“The website currently has a wide selection of attractions including; The English Market’s famous live action chessboard, the Glucksman’s Swedish heritage, and the Lough’s innovative underwater hydro power plant.”
Indeed.
The lads are welcoming all submissions and they plan to feature as many as possible on-site, so get in touch with them here.
