These toy swaps are good for the planet (and your pocket)

Swap, share and save.
There are two toy and book exchanges coming up just in time for Christmas.
The Carraig Centre in Ballincollig will be buzzing today. December 16th from 1pm to 3pm, followed by Grace Church on McCurtain Street on December 19th from 10am to 12noon, as families get the chance to exchange toys with one another.
Curated by Cork City Swap Shop, this eco-friendly initiative offers the chance to exchange toys, giving a new life to beloved playthings.
And as if that wasn’t heartwarming enough, the charity partner for this event is the Jack and Jill Foundation, with any unclaimed toys finding a new home with them.
The rules are simple: only clean, fully functional toys with all relevant pieces will be accepted. Books, children’s clothes, Halloween costumes, and party decorations are also all welcome to be part of the swapping fiesta.

Conceived by a local parents’ group that understands the financial strains some families face during the festive season, this toy swap is a chance to support those who might not have the means to buy brand-new toys, all while championing sustainability and community spirit.
Entry is just €3, so gather those toys, and let the swapping begin!
