Brought to you by The Imperial Hotel.
It’s already the best meal of the day.
But as part of the first birthday celebrations for Sketch, the buzzy eatery at the Imperial Hotel, star chef Ali Honour has elevated the brunch menu to new heights altogether.
The hotel’s new Executive Chef, famous for her unctuous comfort food creations, just unveiled a new brunch menu jam-packed with flavoursome treats.
Fans of Ali’s cooking will rejoice in the Sweet French Toast, served with seasonal compote, vanilla mascarpone and hazelnut crumble and Savoury French toast topped with creamy mushrooms, spinach, and gruyere cheese.
If poached eggs are your idea of peak brunch yumminess, then try the Corn Fritters served with avocado, poached egg, chilli and coriander dressing or opt for the Brunch Bowl with poached egg, hummus, tender stem broccoli, quinoa, roast peppers, onions, sweet potato, salad and a herb dressing.
Putting a local twist on a classic, the Cork Monsieur Toastie is a festival of O’Connell’s baked ham, bechamel and melty gruyere.
For meat lovers, the steak sandwich features a 6oz sirloin, onions garlic butter, focaccia, lettuce, and tomato and there’s a delicious spiced lamb flatbread with Ardsallagh feta, mint, yoghurt, mango chutney, salad, tomato and onion on offer too.
As if we needed an excuse…
The Imperial has also organised two fabulous brunch events on the weekend of October 8th and 9th to showcase the new menu.
Saturday, October 8th: From 12pm-4pm, Sketch will add live music to their Saturday brunch featuring Cork pop singer Aine Carroll, a contestant on The Voice UK.
Sunday, October 9th: A ‘Stretch at Sketch’ yoga brunch (€59) will take place at 11am. An energising morning, the event includes a health shot from the Imperial’s head chef Ali, a 45-minute yoga class with yogi Val from Soul Retreats Cork and a three-course brunch at Sketch (vegans and vegetarians catered for).
Tickets for both events can be booked here.
