There’s a fun summer party on Opera Lane before Les Girafes this Sunday

Brought to you by Opera Lane.
Cork City Centre is the place to be this Sunday.
With the Cork Midsummer Festival’s spectacular parade performance of Les Girafes (at 2 pm and 9pm) and the Night Market on St. Patrick’s Street from noon until 9pm, Opera Lane is also hosting a fun celebration for families keen to soak up the summer atmosphere.
This Sunday, June 22nd, Cork’s premier shopping street will come alive from 12pm to 3pm for an afternoon of free, family-friendly activities. There’ll be face painting, balloon artistry and a vintage photo booth to capture all those precious moments.
The 96FM Roadshow will also be on Opera Lane from 12 noon with lots of spot prizes and giveaways.
“The atmosphere will be buzzing so just look for the Opera Lane flowers and butterflies.” they told us.
How to catch Les Girafes
A Cork City Council supported event as part of the Open Streets series, Les Girafes will see seven towering red giraffes gracefully parade through Cork’s city centre, led by a captivating operatic Diva.
Some city centre streets like Patrick Street, North Main Street and more will be closed, so try to use public transport like festival sponsors Bus Éireann for easy access in and out.
Compagnie OFF’s monumental giraffes will be accompanied by a troupe of bumbling keepers, musicians, and performers, transforming the streets of Cork into a fantastical urban savannah at 2pm and 9pm.
