There’s a free training day for local heritage group members happening at City Hall

Are you involved in a Cork heritage group?
If you’d like to find out more about archiving, community engagement, grants, insurance, public relations and social media, there’s a free training day covering all these topics and more happening at Cork City Hall on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024.
Training for Cork City Heritage Groups is a full day of interesting talks and workshops in the Millennium Hall, all funded by the Heritage Council and Cork City Council as part of the Cork City Heritage and Biodiversity Plan.
This day-long workshop will provide training in aspects of heritage, with presentations from practitioners in these areas, panel discussions and Q & A sessions as well as peer-to-peer mentoring on various issues such as finding a space, getting published, engaging with the community and organising an event.
It is hoped that in the long term, the project will help create joint projects and promote the sharing of resources amongst heritage groups.
This is a great opportunity for heritage groups to meet and discuss common challenges and opportunities, and hopefully empower these groups to continue the vital work they do for heritage in the community.” said Niamh Twomey, Cork City Council Heritage Officer.
Numbers are limited and restricted to two maximum per organisation and priority will be given to those who are based in Cork City. Tickets are free and include lunch and refreshments – you can sign up and check out the programme for the day here.
