There’s a free mini music festival for kids happening just off Barrack Street

The tweens will love this one.
There’s a free fun-filled day of youth music-making, performances, and creativity happening from 10am to 6pm at Elizabeth Fort this weekend.
Rock the Block will take over the historic venue on Saturday, June 10th, 2023, for Cruinniú na nÓg, as Rhyme Island, The Kabin Studio, and Music Generation Cork City, in partnership with Cork City Council, host talented young hip hop artists and rappers from across Ireland.
A variety of youth music workshops specifically tailored for young people, including rap and beats and songwriting as well as traditional Irish music workshops, will run throughout the day.
Performers will include Cruinniú na nÓg youth ambassadors Jamie ‘The King’ Forde (The Kabin Studio) and Ciara Cremin (Music Mash Up, Mayfield UBU) and collaborations with Music Generation Cork City around the city including Creative Tradition, Music Mash Up, and Foróige Linkpoint Knocknaheeny.
The audience will also catch the live debut of Music Gives Me a Reason, a brand new collaborative song and music video set to be released later this month.
