There’s a free family-friendly day of outdoor fun planned in Mayfield this weekend

The kids will love this.
Children’s entertainer Tony Baloney will lead a free family-friendly day of music and entertainment at Colmcille Park in the heart of Mayfield this Sunday, September 18th.
Kicking off at 12pm in the park, a natural amphitheatre located in the centre of Mayfield between Old Youghal Road and Colmcille Avenue, you can expect songs, circus acts as well as performances from Cork songwriter, storyteller and dreamer John Spillane, the raucous sounds of Bone Dog Blues Band, the two-tone rocksteady beats of ska band The Service and the soul-pop songs of Motown and Stax Records from Eve Clague and The Valentines.
The Music in Mayfield event is supported by Cork City Council Arts Department and funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media through the Local Live Performance Programming Scheme.
Tony Baloney and Leroy The Dog will be joined by Goyo with face painting during the afternoon.
If you’re staying for lunch, there’ll be local food and coffee aplenty from artisan stalls Daycent Munch, Glanmire Ices and the Winky Toucan at the event. The surrounding area is well provided for with local restaurants such as Looney’s Chipper and O’Connors Old Bank Cafe on the event’s perimeter too.
