The Triskel is screening two iconic Christmas movies, starting this weekend

‘Tis the weekend before Christmas…
And now there’s a unique opportunity to catch some good old festive classics on the big screen in Cork City.
The Triskel Arts Centre is screening two family favourites, starting this Sunday, that are sure to go down a treat with the smallies.
First up is The Muppet Christmas Carol, based on the Charles Dickens classic by (almost) the same name.
This colourful retelling stars Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy beside Michael Caine who plays Ebenezer Scrooge in a playful adaption that lets you rediscover the meaning of Christmas with plenty of giggles and a full cinematic experience as the ghosts of past, present and future take Scrooge on an eye-opening journey of his miserable life.
Screenings for The Muppet Christmas Carol will take place at 4.30pm from Sunday to Wednesday this week.
Next up is It’s a Wonderful Life, a 1946 American Christmas fantasy drama film set in the sleepy town of Bedford Falls, New York. This film tells the story of George who gets into some financial trouble just before Christmas and is left contemplating the worst.
Luckily for George, there is some help from above that shows him just what life would be without him.
It’s a Wonderful Life is screening at The Triskel from Sunday-Wednesday from 1pm. Book your tickets here.
