The Toy Library is hosting its next Swap and Play in Mahon

Parents of Cork, this one’s for you.
Because if you’ve ever wondered where all these toys came from, or quietly wished your child would play with literally anything they already own… then The Toy Library Swap & Play might just be your new favourite weekend plan.
Taking place on Sunday, May 10th at Mahon Community Centre, Avenue De Rennes, Mahon, Cork this wholesome little event is exactly what it sounds like — part toy swap, part playdate, and entirely genius.
Here’s the deal: you bring along toys your kids have outgrown (or just dramatically lost interest in after 48 hours), and swap them for “new-to-you” ones. No money, no fuss, just a sustainable, clutter-clearing win.
Importantly, you don’t need to donate anything in order to take—everyone is welcome to participate so it’s totally fine to go along and choose something even if you don’t bring a toy.
So far, a total of 14 joyful events have seen 3,307 toys recirculated and a whopping €43,550 of toy value saved from new production.

But it’s not just about the swapping. While you’re busy feeling smug about finally doing something eco-friendly, the kids get stuck into a proper play session without a screen in sight.
So if your toy basket is overflowing, your wallet needs a break, or you just fancy a feel-good morning out, this is your sign. You’ll leave with fewer toys than you brought — and somehow, happier kids.
Leftover toys will be donated to local charities and libraries and you can reserve a spot in the next event (11am to 2pm on May 10th) over here.
