The Silent Book Club is heading back to Camus Farm this Sunday

Cork is having a bit of a book club moment, and we’re very much here for it.
The Silent Book Club Cork is heading back to Camus Farm in Ardfield this Sunday for a relaxed afternoon of reading, coffee and good company.
The concept is refreshingly simple: there’s no assigned book, no reading list to catch up on and definitely no pressure to come prepared with an analysis of symbolism. Instead, attendees are invited to bring whatever book they’re currently reading, find a cosy spot and spend a couple of hours reading alongside other book lovers.
It’s all about enjoying a book in good company, without the usual expectations that can come with a traditional book club.
And if you’re thinking you’d feel a bit awkward arriving on your own, the organisers are keen to reassure people that this is completely normal.
“Come alone. Most people do,” they say.

The next gathering takes place at Camus Farm, Ardfield, on Sunday, September 27th, from 3pm to 5pm. Best of all, the event is free, although registration is required.
So, whether you’ve been flying through books lately, have had the same novel sitting on your bedside table for six months, or simply fancy a quiet afternoon away from the usual Sunday routine, this could be a nice one to add to the calendar.
Just bring your book and settle in.
