The Silent Book Club is a dream come true for introverts who love reading

It’s happy hour for introverts.
A new book club offering all of the charm but none of the pressure to join a big discussion is holding its first meet-up in July.
The Silent Book Club Cork will meet at Camus Farm in Ardfield, Clonakilty on Sunday, July 6th, 2025 (3pm to 5pm, over 18s only) with further events on Sunday August 10th and September 14th.
Silent Book Club is a global community of readers with more than 1000 local groups in over 50 countries around the world. SBC members meet publicly in bars, cafes, bookstores, libraries and online to read together.

The idea is about community. Everyone is welcome and anyone can join or start a chapter.
“Love books but not the pressure of discussing them?” they posted.
“Join us for a Silent Book Club — bring your own book, grab a drink, and enjoy a quiet evening reading in great company. No assigned reading, no small talk (unless you want to), just peaceful vibes and a love of stories.”
Just bring a book and a blanket or cushion for ultimate comfort – tea and light snacks will be available. Reserve a free spot here.
