The National Sculpture Factory is now selling short runs of small artworks online

Here’s a gift idea they’ll remember next year.
The National Sculpture Factory has just launched a collection of limited-edition small artworks available for purchase online.
This innovative initiative offers art lovers the chance to buy exclusive pieces from talented local artists with short runs of carefully crafted sculptures, one-of-a-kind treasures that make a memorable and creative alternative to traditional presents.
“Factory Fragments is a series of fifteen unique ceramics by Belfast-born artist Simon Kidd.” Stephanie Power, Digital Communications Officer at the National Sculpture Factory, told us.

“Created using casts taken from features and structures within the NSF workshop, the clay includes fragments of red brick and stone gathered from Oileán Chléire and the Factory itself. They were all fired during Simon’s residency on Oileán Chléire using natural materials like seaweed and wood gathered on the island, in brick kilns the artist built himself.’
The collection features pieces like Duct III, pictured in our main image (€350):
“Above the victorian factory floor floats a contemporary glass fronted office, spanning the width of the building, its climate controlled rooms are the antithesis of the creative chaos that you look across. I climbed above it, wiping off a thick layer of dust from some air ducting before slathering it in silicone.” artist Simon Kidd explains.
Whether you’re shopping for an art enthusiast or seeking something truly special, these mini-masterpieces are sure to make a statement under the tree.
