The line-up for the Clonakilty Guitar Festival just dropped – and it’s a good ‘un

It gets better every year.
The iconic Clonakilty Guitar Festival celebrates its 18th birthday this year with another class line-up of artists from far, beyond and just over the hill, giving us another excuse to head down whest.
As usual, huge crowds are expected to gather in the West Cork town’s music venues, pubs, and community spaces to enjoy the award-winning celebration of all things guitar. Luckily for music enthusiasts across the county, the majority of the festival shows are free to attend.
Ticketed events at this year’s festival include performances by the legendary Andy Irvine, Susan O’Neill, Teke Teke, Marisa Anderson, Molly O’Mahony, and acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Yasmin Williams.
Other exciting artists include Lankum’s Daragh Lynch, all-female Cork band The Kates, Strange Angels, Kris Drever, Gerron, Post Punk Podge & The Technohippiesis, Mide Houlihan, The Shaker Hymn, Heart Shaped, H.A.R.P, The Deadlians, Enola Gay and many, many more.

In addition to the headline acts, there are also a number of master courses and workshops where aspiring artists can pick the brains of industry veterans.
The acoustic forum is another popular part of the festival, which gives attendees a chance to meet performers up close and personal to learn about their songs, techniques, and entertaining backstories.
The town’s many pubs make up the melodic festival trail, which will host music ranging from anything folk to delta blues, so you can enjoy a pint and a bite wherever you go.
The Clonakilty Guitar Festival takes place from Friday, September 9th to Sunday, September 18th. Ticket prices ranges from €10- €20, available to purchase from the festival website here.
