The last precious pot of Lennox’s curry sauce will be auctioned off this weekend

There’s nothing quite like it.
And if you’re already pining for a luscious little tub of warm Lennox’s curry, there’s still a small chance to get your hands on one despite the closure of the legendary chipper last week.
Shandon Street bar The Friary has procured what they say is the last portion of curry to be handed out over the famous counter on Bandon Road, after one bidder paid €51 for a frozen pot on eBay last week.
They’ll be auctioning off the prized pot to raise funds for charity on Saturday, October 19th in the bar, where the fun begins at 8pm and hungry bidders can get in on the action.

All funds raised on The Great Charity Curry Auction night will go to support the wonderful work of Penny Dinners and there will also be other prizes up for grabs, including beers and wine.
Secret recipe
Meanwhile, heartbroken Lennox’s fans have been sharing their ideas on recreating the delicious curry sauce at home.
Many agree that Erin brand curry sauce is a good base. For authenticity (and lumps) apparently apples and leftover roast chicken work well.
