The first Christmas sambo of the season has dropped (and not a moment too soon)

By Yay Cork November 19, 2025November 18, 2025

It’s about time, says you.

The first Christmas sandwich of 2025 has finally arrived, just in time for this week’s cold snap.

The dedicated elves at Happy Days Deli in Penrose Wharf and Ballinlough are the first out of the gate this year, with a whopper sambo featuring all of the classics.

Their Christmas sandwich is stuffed with turkey, honey roast ham, homemade sausage stuffing, sliced Brie, cranberry mayo and rocket, all loaded into a fresh ciabatta.

You can pick one up now at Happy Days Deli Penrose Wharf (Monday-Friday) and Ballinlough Road (Tuesday-Sunday).

Down in Cobh, Ellen’s Kitchen are also jumping on the Christmas train.

Their festive sambo is stacked with honey roast ham, slow-roasted crown turkey, signature stuffing, Folláin cranberry sauce and creamy Irish Brie… all tucked into fresh Cuthbert’s bread and served with gravy on the side for dipping.

You can even order a Gingerbread Latte or a Black Forest Gâteau Hot Chocolate to make it extra Christmassy.
