The Douglas Farmer’s Market is going ahead (at a new temporary location)

They’ve found a new location.
Douglas Farmer’s Market will set up once again this weekend, after the fire at Douglas Shopping Centre shut down the weekly event last Saturday.
With warm temperatures and sunshine on the horizon for Saturday, the market will be setting up in the green between the Douglas cinema and McDonald’s.
It’s all hands on deck today as organisers rush to cut the grass and plot the area before stallholders and food trucks arrive in the morning.
You can expect all the usual coffee stands, fresh fruit and vegetable sellers and artisan producers to be there from 10am until 2pm, so bring a bag and stock up on treats for the weekend.
Cork City Council has introduced one hour’s free parking in Douglas to support Douglas traders.
The on-street parking promotion will be available on Mondays to Saturdays (free parking is available on Sundays) throughout September.
Cork City Council will review it as further detail emerges about when the shopping centre car park is likely to re-open.
