You’ll recognise the iconic striped design.
That’s because McWilliam bags have been used by Cork sporty folk since 1971 and this Christmas they’ve had a trendy makeover that’s guaranteed to keep them relevant for another 30 years.
The brand, which hand-makes every one of their stylish, durable, carry-everything bags in their Crosshaven loft, has embarked on a rebranding project complete with a slick new website featuring RCYC under 25’s sailors as the models.
Now they’ve even got a pop-up shop in Brown Thomas on St. Patrick Street.
“The iconic bag has made its way into the iconic Brown Thomas store.” McWilliam’s Clare Morgan.
“When we came to build the stand, we used a local carpenter from Crosshaven (who is also the father of one of the models we used for the photo shoots), a local painter, and we have staffed the pop-up with the models that we used on the photoshoot.”
From windsurfing dads to trendy teens, these bags make the perfect gift for anyone who needs a secure hold-all for any kind of gear – they’re eco-friendly too, many McWilliam bags are still in use after three decades.
You can drop by BT and shop the McWilliam range from €65.
