The Bunnyconnellan is for sale (and €1.9m will buy you an iconic slice of the Cork coast)

It’s a one-of-a-kind location.
The Bunnyconnellan in Myrtleville has hit the market at €1.9m, opening up the beloved former restaurant and bar to a world of exciting new opportunities for the right investor.
The landmark eatery closed its doors for good last year after staff shortages and soaring energy bills made things increasingly tricky for owner Paul O’Brien.
O’Brien and his family continue to run The Lodge Bar and Kitchen, Myrtleville.
Now property experts Savills are accepting expressions of interest in the stunning coastal 5.28-acre Bunny’s site and the iconic building, which has stood on the cliffside since 1824.
“Dramatic and picturesque, this site wraps almost half a kilometre around the coastline and overlooks rugged rocks below with deep blue sea, perfectly calm with a gentle roll on a sunny summer’s day while the white horses of a windy day crash on the shore creating completely different but just as stunning scenery,” said Savills’ Catherine McAuliffe.
“The location is on the south coast of Ireland with Atlantic Ocean views where you can watch the cruise ships and all other marine traffic arriving at the mouth of Cork Harbour.”
The property’s proximity to popular swimming spots and two sandy beaches (Myrtleville and Fountainstown) would make it ideal for a boutique hotel, but the spectacular setting could also appeal to a high-end developer seeking a setting for a niche residential development.
