Taoiseach to reveal a ‘comprehensive plan’ for pubs, gigs, sport and travel next week

More lockdown measures will be eased on June 7th.
Now Taoiseach Michéal Martin has confirmed that a comprehensive plan for easing further restrictions on international travel, indoor dining, sport and live entertainment during July will be unveiled by the Government next week.
Speaking at his weekly parliamentary party meeting, Martin said aviation is a priority, with a decision to be made on the mandatory hotel quarantine system.
“We are in a different space with vaccination and as a small open economy, aviation is really important,” he said.
“There will need to be an effective rebooting of aviation and we will engage with the airlines and airports. This is crucial to tourism and economic growth of all regions in the country,”
What changes come into effect on June 7th?
Starting on Monday, June 7th, you can have visitors from one other household inside your home.
Restaurants and bars can offer outdoor services, with groups limited to six people from any number of households. There will be no time limit on tables and no ‘substantial meal’ requirement.
The maximum guest number at wedding receptions will increase to 25 and outdoor sports matches can be played but with no spectators.
Gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres can reopen too.
