Summer is Back: Balmy week ahead in Cork as Met Éireann predicts 26C sunshine

This is more like it.
After the wettest July on record and a pretty dull August too, September is giving us a last blast of summer weather before autumn sets in.
According to Met Éireann, this morning’s mist and fog will clear early on, revealing another “warm or very warm day with mostly sunny skies”.
Coastal fog may linger locally in Cork, but temperatures will range between 22 to 26 degrees – ideal for an al fresco lunch or an after-school beach trip and a dip in the sea.
Tonight will be warm and humid (15C to 18C) with mostly clear skies and tomorrow is looking good too:
“Tuesday will be another warm or very warm day. While it will be mostly sunny, a few well-scattered showers are likely. Top temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees, warmest away from the south coast, in no more than moderate easterly breezes.” said a forecaster.

The outlook for the rest of the week is “very warm, both by day and night with the increasing likelihood of thundery showers breaking out.”
Wednesday, while warm, won’t be quite as sunny. Cloud will build at times, producing scattered showers, some of which may turn heavy.
It will be “very warm and humid, with top temperatures of 22 and 26 degrees, in no more than moderate southeasterly winds. Sultry again overnight, with temperatures not falling below 15 to 18 degrees as a southerly airflow persists.” added the forecaster.
