Start the New Year with a cosy acoustic gig in this Kinsale Bookshop

By Christina Collins December 30, 2023December 18, 2023

The most wonderful time of the year is over.

And unfortunately, what awaits many of us on this side of the celebrations is a cold and damp January with little on the telly and an endless loop of “Did you have a good Christmas?” playing every time we bump into someone on the street.

So in order not to fall into the crash after the sugar high of the silly season, it’s best practice to have a few bits planned for yourself that will nourish the soul and the spirit after all that excitement. And music is the best elixir.

“We have a very special show lined up to kick off 2024. Prim’s Bookshop will host an acoustic night with the frontmen from our three favourite bands,” announced Prim’s on Instagram.

The seaside indie bookshop in Kinsale has proven a massive musical hit, having hosted some huge Irish names since its founding in the town.

“As it’s Christmastime, and we have them all together at the same time in their hometown for a moment, the lesser spotted triumvirate of Euan Manning (Cardinals), Josh O’Leary (Jossle) and Kieran Hurley (The Love Buzz) will be here to play stripped back versions of the songs you all love.”

“They will share the stage, accompany each other on some songs, and there may even be a surprise or two thrown in,” they added.

Prim’s Bookshop also serves coffee, wine, good vibes, and books so you can enjoy feeling like you’ve walked into a librarie in Paris.

Kieran (The Love Buzz), Euan (Cardinals), Josh (Jossle), Book’d @ Prim’s takes place on Wednesday, January 3rd from 7pm and tickets for the event cost €13, available here.
