St Lukes’ new bookshop is opening this week with a cash-only pop-up

They’re celebrating 80 years in business this year.
And this week, The Mercier Press will host a Pop-Up Bookshop at their new location in St Luke’s in Cork City, offering locals and booklovers the first peek inside the shop.
Happening this Thursday, August 15th, from 9am to 5pm, it’s cash-only for now so make sure you hit the atm if you’re heading up for a look.
The Cork-based ‘independent publisher of extraordinary books’, which is Ireland’s oldest independent publishing house and was founded in 1944 by Captain Seán and Mary Feehan, will be a welcome addition to the area.

Readings, launches, and various other bookish events are already planned at the shop, which will also function as the publisher’s office. Kerry poet, Gabriel Fitzmaurice, is scheduled for one of the first events at the venue.
