Spot wild deer and red squirrels on an autumn getaway in this East Cork cottage

Craving a break from the city?
If country strolls and wildlife spotting are on your list of ways to spend a dreamy autumn day, the ideal base awaits in East Cork.
Dating back to the 1800s, Foxglove Lodge is a farm building that has been lovingly restored to take on its new role as a comfortable and relaxing farm stay.
Inside the adorable lodge building are two bedrooms (one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and one bedroom with two single beds) as well as the main bathroom with a shower, so it’s ideal for family breaks.
A pull-out couch in the living area is available on request if required, and can sleep two additional guests.
You won’t be roughing it either; the lodge has a spacious and bright kitchen living area with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, breakfast bar and large dining table, a woodburning stove, smart TV, and climate control heating system.
There’s loads to do locally so bring your wellies, wetsuits, and hiking boots. You can explore the walking trails of Glenbower Woods in Killeagh, Youghal and its beaches and neighbouring tourist spots such as Ballycotton and Cobh.
Visitors are also welcome to enjoy a stroll on the farmlands upon request, taking in the beautiful scenery and fabulous views. You might even be lucky enough to witness the wild deer, red squirrels, and kestrel hawks that live on the property.
Stays at Foxglove Lodge start at €210 per night and you can check out more images on Airbnb.
