And now for something completely different.
If you thought you were familiar with every type of Halloween experience and fright night happening in Cork this season, think again.
True to form, Killeagh’s Greywood Arts crew are staging something truly out of the ordinary: a collection of hideously hairy creatures, fresh from the bizarre world of UK based artist Hannah J Moulds.
Guaranteed to amuse and appall visitors of all ages, The Unnameables have wriggled and wrapped themselves throughout the Greywood Arts building.
“Working predominantly with recycled materials, the creatures I make do not sit on plinths like a sculpture.” says the artist. “They have a resemblance to living creatures and plant life, but they exist in their own right. These creatures are hideously humorous yet oddly bizarre.”
This week you can visit them in person on a family-friendly tour through the house, then make a spooky Halloween craft and enjoy a treat (suitable for kids aged over five, tickets include all activities and the daily 2pm-4pm tours for €13.66 here).
Join them for a hairy Halloween party
There’s a community Halloween bash tonight, Halloween night for some post trick-or-treating fun.
The best bit? All funds raised this Halloween will go directly towards the renovation of a derelict Coach House into much needed artist studios, arts education and a flexible event space.
