Sober Lane had a major makeover this year: Here are 5 reasons to book a booth

Brought to you by Sober Lane.
It’s officially the home of Cork’s greatest goujon.
But mouthwatering chicken snacks aside, Sober Lane is back with a bang and it’s high time you dropped by for a drink and a peek at their new decor.
The buzzing bar on Cork’s Sullivan’s Quay (follow the monkeys) is synonymous with good vibes and now it’s got a cool interior to match.
From the neon lights to the cosy booths (ideal for dates and relaxed dinners with friends) and the leafy Garden Room outside, it’s the gastropub for people who like to party.
Here are five reasons to visit Sober Lane this weekend:
Work your way down the cocktail list
Nothing washes down a zingy plate of chicken wings like a tasty cocktail and Sober Lane’s cocktail list is one of the most exciting you’ll find on this side of the city.
The in-house mixologist will shake you up any of the classics, but if it’s something more exotic than an espresso martini you’re after, you’ll be well impressed with the specials.
Take the Loco Lane, for instance, a blend of Bacardi Rum, lemon, and sugar topped with Monster Mango Loco, it has since become a fan favourite.

Drop by for dinner
Sober Lane might be a laid-back spot to meet for a few bevvies but know this; they are dead serious about their food.
From the enormous burgers and Bang Bang Prawns, to the Monster Nachos and Mac ‘n’ Cheese Croquettes, it’s a comfort food mecca.
Veggies and vegans are wild about the place too; the meat-free menu is extensive, with Korean Fried Tofu, Sweet Potato Tempura Fries, and the Hit the Road Jack jackfruit burger with vegan buffalo mayo, melted vegan cheese on vegan brioche among the bestsellers.

Word has it a brand new menu will be unveiled soon so keep an eye on their social media for updates.
Catch all the sports, all the time
No matter what game you’re hoping to watch over a freshly poured pint, you can be confident it’ll be on the telly at Sober Lane. From rugby to Premier League and GAA, there are sports on-screen every evening.
You don’t even need to arrive early to nab the best seat- you can see a TV from every table.
Try your luck in the famous Sunday Coin Toss
There aren’t many bars in Cork where you can win your drinks. At Sober Lane, however, the Sunday Coin Toss has been a popular fixture since the beginning and it’s not going away any time soon.
Drop by any Sunday from 4pm to 8pm and you can challenge the bar staff to the coin toss; if you win the next round is on them.
Planning a party?
Whether it’s a Dirty 30s bash, a hen or stag party, an engagement do or the second day of a wedding celebration, Sober Lane is a party venue where everyone can let their hair down.
There’s a new party area (the entire bar has been redecorated since it reopened last summer) and you can chat to the staff about all your food requirements, no matter what size get-together you’re planning.
Sober Lane is open Thursday to Sunday from 4pm. Check out the menu here, book a table via soberlane.ie or call (021) 431 7979 to organise a party or event.
